PROJECT

SUMMARY

The main objective of the project focuses on "Innovation", through a new transnational strategy that - by exploiting the cultural value of rural heritage - supports the growth and recovery of the cultural sector in geographically and economically disadvantaged rural areas.

The specific objectives of the project are:

  1. To increase the access of diversified visitor segments, including people with disabilities, to the rural heritage of the participating countries.
  2. To increase the international dimension and visibility of the intangible rural cultural heritage of three European areas: religious processions, agricultural traditions and festivals, handicrafts, traditional songs, etc.
  3. Multiplying public engagement and active cultural participation, including people with disabilities.
  4. Contribute to developing citizens' knowledge of the traditions and identities of the participating rural areas and their contribution to the development of European heritage and identity in general.
  5. To enhance the digitization of cultural heritage in rural and disadvantaged areas.
  6. Strengthen digital skills and innovation to reach out to the public by cultural operators in rural areas.
  7. Provide a new digital channel for accessing cultural heritage, thus increasing online interactivity with visitors through virtual tours.
  8. Favors social inclusion through the engagement of people with disabilities in the knowledge of digital collections and the use of digital storytelling, thanks to the development of specific assistive technology.
  9. Develop training activities for the staff of cultural partners, to increase their digitization skills and their relations with the public.
